Sam Stern has posted POPULAR "survey" results. As usual, they represent the shrill whinings of a tiny minority of Minnesota lakeshore property owners who feel somehow entitled to place their short-term personal convenience over the long-term ecological health of Minnesota waters. Sam says:
"We believe that if all lakeshore owners in the State understood the potential threats to their use and enjoyment of their property, there would be a significantly more widespread outcry."
What Sam and his buddies fail to appreciate is that the vast majority of Minnesota citizens and lakeshore property owners see the kind of unbridled "rights" of private lakeshore owners (as advocated by POPULAR!) as a far greater threat to their enjoyment than any ecologically sound regulations the DNR might propose and implement.
